From May 29 to June 2, 2017 „International College“ Ltd. and Culinary Arts and Hospitality Association (CAHA) conducted an international joint-staff training in culinary arts and culinary management with the participation of 20 lecturers from universities and vocational training centers in Lithuania, Latvia , Spain, Italy, Slovenia and Bulgaria.
This is an initiative within the framework of the „Culinary Arts Education in Support of Youth Employment and Social Inclusion“ project, which is supported by the Erasmus + Program of the European Commission.
During the event the participants have implemented good practices from the developed “Culinary Arts and Culinary Business Management” joint-staff training.
The lecturers from the partner countries have presented interesting themes for teaching culinary arts in their countries, sustainable nutrition and other interesting topics. They have prompted discussions on validation procedures for informally acquired knowledge and skills, lifelong learning and opportunities for flexible learning pathways between higher and professional education. The culinary theory was combined with demonstration of modern cooking techniques and sharing experience from different project partner countries.
Led by the social mission of the project, the participants took part in an interesting program of the Youth Rehabilitation Center „Riviera“, where they embraced in joint games of food decoration and this way they have provoked many smiles in the youth center.
Within five days, all teachers exchanged experiences, ideas and best practices in the field of teaching culinary arts, they have presented the features of their traditional cuisine as well as interesting ways of preparing food.
The Culinary Arts Institute(CAI) at Varna University of Management, as host, presented the programs and practices for career counseling and support for successful professional realization of the students.
